STORIES — A speech to remember

Laura, English, USA: In a high school English class, I assigned a group project where students had to write and perform a play. One student was very quiet, and he wasn’t interested in the project at all. But the other members of his group encouraged him to participate. They came together and helped him come up with ideas for the play. On the day of the performance, he surprised everyone by delivering an incredible monologue that brought the audience to tears. I still remember the crowd reactions to this day. His group members and I were so proud of him and it was a moment they would never forget.
