Tony, English, UK: I had a student who once I met him, I knew that our tutoring sessions would be more than just academic exercises. He was a vibrant and curious soul, hungry for knowledge but facing significant challenges at home. As his tutor, I was determined to make a difference in his life, but little did I know how much he would impact mine. Our sessions were never dull. His enthusiasm was infectious, and our discussions often took unexpected turns, delving into philosophical debates and pondering the intricacies of life. Outside the classroom, we ventured into nature, seeking inspiration for creative writing. As time passed, I witnessed his transformation from a struggling student to a confident young adult. His writing became a powerful tool of self-expression, allowing him to navigate through life's challenges with grace and resilience. But beyond the tutoring, this student had taught me the importance of embracing life's uncertainties and finding beauty in the simplest of moments. I not only taught him, but he taught me too, I often ask myself 'Isn't this what tutoring is about?'
