Georgina, Tutors Need Tutors, UK: I would like to thank Mr Grantham. He taught me history for key stage 3, and was also my form teacher. I used to always get comments on my school reports that said, “Georgina is a capable student but is too quiet. She needs to participate more in lessons.” Mr Grantham actually involved me in the lessons. He would have me take the register each morning, and hand out sheets to the class. He nominated me for an award that meant I had to stand up on stage and speak in front of the whole school. He knew what he was doing... Mr Grantham never called me out for being quiet. He just quietly nudged me out of my shell. Positive encouragement beats negative consequences every time. Thank you Mr Grantham.
