Mark, Science, USA: I had a student who had always been the quiet one in class, never one to seek attention. But when I saw his paper, I had to do a double-take. His grade had shot up from a C to an A. I couldn't wait to share the news with him. I remember his face when I told him. He was stunned and said something along the lines of 'I never expected this' when I kept telling him how exceptional his work had been. Seeing the pride in that young man's eyes about his work, I couldn't help marvel at his growth in the subject.
