Once you’ve decided to become a tutor, one of the most important answers you will need is when you are asked ‘How much do you charge?’
To know how much to charge, you will need to measure a few criteria against yourself and then come to the amount you wish to charge for your services.
Some of these defining factors are:
- Qualifications — what level are you tutoring and what qualifications do you have?
- Experience — how long have you been tutoring, what type of tutees have you had?
- Market — how much do other tutors near you; at, below or above your level of qualifications/experience charge for their services?
You can also give discounts with your tutees, so that you guarantee work and they still get a service if finances are constrained. You can always negotiate prices with tutees if you wish to do so too.
As your tutoring experience grows, it is important to remain on top of your schedule as you expand out. Get organised, get ClassCaptain
